There was a couple who had just got married in Paris. The husband was very well off and commissioned this well known artist to do a portrait of his bride. The artist agreed and within an hour had the portrait finished. The man was pleased and asked the artist how much he owed him. The artist said 25,000 dollars. The man was a little shocked and said, "I am a rich man but even I don't get paid 25 grand an hour". The artist then replied, "Your not paying for the hour, your paying for all the years it took for me to be who I am". So the point of the story is don't sell yourself short. Remember how much work is involved to be great at something.

For me, seeing is an evolution. Observation is the key to becoming a successful creator. It's all about absorbing the subject. I have been drawing ever since I can remember and after 35 years I still need practice. It is a slow process but well worth the discoveries along the way. One tip I can give would be to never get stuck in a rut with subject matter.  Always try new things.
