There was a couple who had just got married in Paris. The husband was very well off and commissioned this well known artist to do a portrait of his bride. The artist agreed and within an hour had the portrait finished. The man was pleased and asked the artist how much he owed him. The artist said 25,000 dollars. The man was a little shocked and said, "I am a rich man but even I don't get paid 25 grand an hour". The artist then replied, "Your not paying for the hour, your paying for all the years it took for me to be who I am".

So the point of the story is don't sell yourself short. Remember how much work is involved to be great at something. Many people just don't understand how much blood sweat and tears are put into the process of creation.
